| PET | Qualifying only | Running, distance-carrying tests calibrated by gender; no marks carried forward, but failure ends candidature. |
| Document Verification | Qualifying | Originals of educational certificates, ID, category/age-relaxation proof checked against the application. |

Unlike RRB NTPC or ALP, Group D has no separate CBT-2 -- one CBT score, combined with PET/DV/Medical clearance, decides the final panel.

Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) opened 22,195 Level-1 “Group D” posts under CEN 09/2025 back in January 2026 — online applications closed on 9 March 2026, and candidates have been waiting on the exam schedule ever since. That wait is over: RRB has now slotted the CBT into early August, with the exam-city slip due out in the last week of July.
Posts on offer span Track Maintainer Grade IV, Pointsman, and Assistant roles in the Loco Shed, Operations, and TL & AC departments — all open to 10th-pass or ITI-qualified candidates, starting at Pay Level 1 (basic pay Rs. 18,000/month).

Frequently Asked Questions
No. RRB does not entertain exam-centre change requests for Group D once the city slip is issued; the centre is allotted algorithmically based on your application details. Plan travel and, if possible, an overnight stay near the allotted city in advance since the CBT window runs 3-21 August 2026 across multiple shifts.
Yes -- PET is qualifying (not scored) but mandatory for all CBT-qualified candidates before document verification; failing PET disqualifies you from Group D regardless of your CBT rank, so candidates should start physical preparation now rather than waiting for the CBT result.
Only online. RRB does not dispatch physical admit cards; download it from rrb.digialm.com or your zonal RRB's website using your registration number and date of birth once it releases from 31 July 2026.
