Eligibility (Advertisement CRPD/CR/2026-27/17)
- Age: 20–28 years as on 01.04.2026. Category relaxations apply exactly as given in the official advertisement.
- Qualification: graduation in any discipline from a recognised university, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government, on or before 31.12.2026. Final-year/semester students could apply provisionally, subject to producing proof of passing by 31.12.2026 if selected.
- One State/UT: candidates apply for vacancies in one State/UT only and can take the test only once under this recruitment.
Local language requirement
You must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) in the specified local language of the State/UT you applied for. The language test is held after qualifying Mains but before joining; failing it means no appointment. Candidates who produce a Class 10 or 12 mark sheet/certificate showing they studied that language are exempt from the test.

- Negative marking: 1/4 of the mark assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer.
- No minimum qualifying marks are prescribed for individual tests or for the aggregate, and section-wise marks will not be maintained.
- About 10 times the number of vacancies (subject to availability) may be shortlisted for Mains, state-wise and category-wise, from aggregate Prelims marks.
What Happens After Prelims
Shortlisted candidates move to the online Main Examination (tentatively November 2026 as per the advertisement; SBI has not announced an exact date). The local language test is held after qualifying Mains and before joining. SBI has not announced a Prelims result date.

Documents to carry on exam day
- Call letter with your recent passport-size photograph affixed (the same photo as uploaded in the application).
- Original photo identity proof and a photocopy of it.
- Two additional photographs.
- Glue for pasting photos and a blue-ink stamp pad for the left thumb impression.
- Scribe candidates: the scribe documents required by SBI's official scribe guidelines.
The official booklet says candidates will not be permitted without the original photo ID and its photocopy, the call letter with the photograph affixed, or the two additional photographs. Follow the reporting time printed on your call letter — SBI says latecomers will not be allowed to take the test.
After the exam
The Prelims call letter is not collected at the venue; it is authenticated/stamped by the exam officials. Keep it safely with the ID-proof copy — candidates called for Mains must bring them again with the Mains call letter and other documents.
