Educational qualification
- Electrical (Post 1): B.Tech./B.E. with at least 60% marks in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- Mechanical (Posts 2â4): B.E./B.Tech. with at least 60% marks in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent for the Drilling Division).
- Courses approved and degrees recognised by UGC/AICTE wherever applicable. ODL degrees are not permitted.
UPSC ESE 2024 condition
Candidates must have cleared the written round of UPSC Engineering Services Examination 2024 in the Electrical/Mechanical discipline, appeared for the ESE 2024 interview, not been recommended for final selection, and consented to sharing their marks on UPSC's website.

- Candidates opened the MECL Online Recruitment Portal from the official MECL website (Career section).
- They registered with a valid e-mail ID and mobile number, logged in and clicked "Apply for a Post".
- They filled in personal details, qualification, UPSC ESE 2024 scorecard details and category.
- They uploaded a photo (JPG/JPEG, 50 KB), signature (JPG/JPEG, 20 KB), the ESE 2024 scorecard with marks out of 1200, Aadhaar-based ID proof, category/PwBD/ex-serviceman certificates and fee payment proof (PDF, up to 300 KB each).
- Candidates who had to pay the Rs. 500 fee paid it into the MECL bank account and submitted the form before the extended closing date of 08.10.2026.

- One year of training as Executive Trainee at a basic pay of Rs. 40,000 per month in the E-1 scale (Rs. 40,000–1,40,000, IDA), followed by one year of probation.
- A service bond of Rs. 1.8 lakh for a minimum of 36 months. Rs. 5,000 per month is deducted from salary as security deposit against the bond and refunded without interest after 36 months of service.
- Posting can be at any MECL project, office or establishment in India.
