Per the official CEN 01/2026: post Assistant Loco Pilot (Level-2 of 7th CPC), initial pay Rs. 19,900, medical standard A-1, age 18–30 years as on 01-07-2026. The approved trade list and full qualification rules are in the CEN.

RRB ALP selection is a multi-stage process: CBT 1 → CBT 2 (Part A + Part B) → Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) → Document Verification → Medical Examination.

As per the official CEN 01/2026: shortlisting for CBT-2 is done RRB-wise at 15 times the vacancies on merit in CBT-1; there is negative marking of 1/3rd mark for every wrong answer in CBT-1 and CBT-2, and none in the CBAT. The full scheme (marks, durations, qualifying percentages and final merit weightage) is in the CEN.

Exam dates for CBT-1 have not been published on the RRB portal yet.

The application window for CEN 01/2026 closed on 14 June 2026 (fee payment: 16 June; correction window: 17–26 June 2026). The steps below describe the process that was followed. Applicants can check their application status at rrbapply.gov.in (RRB notice dated 25 August 2026).

Visit the Official Portal
Go to rrbapply.gov.in — the centralized RRB application portal. The CEN 01/2026 ALP link is available there.

Register / Login
New users create an account with name, mobile and email (verify via OTP). Existing users log in with previous RRB credentials.

Fill the Application Form
Select CEN 01/2026 (ALP). Enter personal, educational and category details, and choose your RRB zone preference as per the notice rules.

Upload a recent passport-size photograph and signature in the specified format/size, plus certificates as required.
