Paper II is evaluated only for candidates who clear the cut-off UPSC sets on Paper I — which is why the written result is a genuine filter and not a formality.
What PST/PET involves
The physical stage is conducted by the Sashastra Seema Bal on UPSC's behalf and is purely qualifying — it adds nothing to your merit but ends your candidature if you fail. It covers height, chest and weight standards, followed by timed running, long jump and shot put events with separate standards for men and women. Dates and venues are announced on recruitment.ssb.gov.in, not on the UPSC site.
How to check your written result
- Open upsc.gov.in and go to the Examination → Written Results section.
- Open the notice for the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2026 dated 25 August 2026.

Marks and cut-offs
UPSC does not release marks or cut-offs at the written-result stage. Both are published only after the entire selection process concludes, along with the final result.

What the Result Means
The written result is not the final selection list. Listed candidates have moved to the physical stage, but their candidature remains provisional. Eligibility documents, reservation certificates and other claims will be checked at later stages. Candidates who are not in the written-result list should wait for the final-result process before expecting individual marks, because UPSC states that non-qualified candidates marksheets will be published after the final result and remain accessible for a limited period.
