Educational Qualification (as on 01 April 2026)
Graduation from a recognized University/Institute.
Age Limit (as on 01 April 2026)
Minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years, i.e. candidates born not later than 01 April 2006 and not earlier than 02 April 1998 (both days inclusive). The maximum age applies to UR and EWS candidates. Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per Government of India guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.
Who Is Not Eligible
- Candidates who have undergone apprenticeship in SBI or any other organization earlier, or who are pursuing apprenticeship training.
- Candidates with training or job experience of one year or more after attaining the educational qualification.
- Ex-Servicemen / Disabled Ex-Servicemen (no engagement and no reservation for them under this apprenticeship).
Local Language
Candidates must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) in one specified local language of the State/UT applied for.
SBI Apprentice 2026 Training Seats
The advertisement lists 7,150 tentative State/UT-wise apprentice training seats. The official advertisement does not divide these seats into Degree and Diploma categories.

SBI Apprentice 2026 Selection Process
- Online written test (objective type)
- Test of local language, where applicable
- Verification of eligibility and of the information given in the online application
- Medical fitness as per the requirement of the Bank

One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates need the minimum aggregate percentage decided by the Bank (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD). There are no sectional qualifying marks. The merit list is drawn State-wise and category-wise.

The earlier version of this page showed an open application window until 30 June 2026, a Degree/Diploma split, a stipend of Rs. 13,000 / Rs. 11,000, a Rs. 100 fee, 10th/ITI/Diploma eligibility, an age limit of 18-28 with no relaxation and an interview stage. None of these match the official SBI advertisement. This page now follows Advertisement CRPD/APPR/2026-27/07 and the result PDF published on the SBI Careers page.

Career / Work Profile
This is a one-year apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961. It is not permanent employment. SBI states that it is not employment in the Bank, nor contract employment, and that apprentices will not be treated as SBI employees or receive the benefits available to employees.
The stipend is Rs. 15,000 per month for the one-year engagement. Apprentices are not eligible for any other allowances or benefits.
SBI has no obligation to offer regular employment during or after the apprenticeship. Any weightage or relaxation for apprentices in future Junior Associate recruitment is given only as per SBI recruitment policy as amended from time to time. It is not guaranteed.
Selection Nuances
- One State only: candidates could apply for engagement in one State/UT only and could appear for the examination only once under this engagement project.
- Local language matters: candidates must be proficient in one specified local language of the State applied for. The local-language test is held after qualifying the online written test.
- Class 10/12 proof: candidates who produce a 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate showing they studied the opted local language do not need to take the separate language test.
- Tie at cut-off: candidates with the same marks at the cut-off point are ranked by age in descending order in their State and category.
- Wait list: a State-category-wise wait list is kept for one year from the date of result or until the next engagement exercise, whichever is earlier. Candidates are released from it only once, against non-joining.
- Prior apprenticeship or experience: candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship, or who have one year or more of training or job experience after attaining the educational qualification, are not eligible for engagement.
- No guarantee of regular SBI employment.
