Preferred Certifications

Any one of CISSP, CRISC, CISM or CISA. The certificate should be valid and dated on or before the last date of application registration.

Critical Eligibility Nuances

  • Training/teaching experience does not count toward eligibility.
  • Candidates cannot apply for both DVP and AVP under this advertisement.
  • The employer experience certificate should specifically establish experience in the required field.
  • Work experience must be full-time and relevant as on the specified cut-off date.
  • SBI Group/company employees must produce an NOC as required by the advertisement.

Vacancy Details

Post Core Vacancies PwBD-LD Backlog (Horizontal) Age
Deputy Vice President (IT Risk) 2 UR 1 shown in official table 36-45
Assistant Vice President (IT Risk) 2 UR 1 shown in official table 32-42

Core advertised vacancies: 4. The official table separately shows one PwBD-LD backlog horizontal reservation entry for each post. Because PwBD reservation is horizontal and included in the respective parent category, do not add those horizontal entries to produce a misleading β€œ6 vacancies” headline.

SBI states that vacancy numbers are provisional and may vary according to actual requirement.

Application Fee

  • UR / EWS / OBC: Rs. 750 (non-refundable).
  • SC / ST / PwBD: No fee/intimation charge.

Fee payment is online. Candidates should check every application detail before payment/final submission because editing is restricted after final submission.

Selection Process

  1. Shortlisting: Minimum qualification and experience do not automatically produce an interview call. SBI decides the shortlisting parameters and number of candidates.
  2. Interview: Interview carries 100 marks. SBI decides the qualifying marks.
  3. CTC Negotiation: Conducted in merit order. If a candidate does not agree with the negotiated CTC, SBI treats the case as voluntary exit and may move to the next candidate.
  4. Merit & Final Selection: Merit is based on interview score only. At the cut-off tie, the older candidate ranks higher. Final selection is among the highest-ranked candidates whose CTC negotiation succeeds.

Contract / Remuneration

  • DVP (IT Risk): up to Rs. 60 lakh annual CTC.
  • AVP (IT Risk): up to Rs. 50 lakh annual CTC.
  • Initial contract: 3 years; may be extended up to 2 more years subject to yearly review.
  • CTC is 80% fixed and 20% variable; annual increment and variable pay are performance-linked.
  • Suggested posting: Mumbai / Navi Mumbai, but SBI retains transfer/deputation discretion.

No Written Examination

This is an experience-led specialist hiring process, not a banking CBT. Preparation should focus on evidence-backed IT risk leadership rather than generic aptitude/reasoning practice.

Interview Preparation Priorities

  • IT risk governance and enterprise risk frameworks.
  • NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT and ITIL concepts and how you have applied them.
  • Technology risk assessment, security reviews and risk appetite frameworks.
  • Regulatory/audit observations, remediation tracking and senior-management reporting.
  • Incident response, business continuity, cyber risk and control effectiveness.
  • Leadership examples: managing IT risk teams, influencing application owners and translating technical findings for executives.

Build a portfolio of measurable examples - risk reduction, audit closures, control improvements, incident-response gains or programme outcomes - and ensure each example can be supported by employment evidence.

How to Apply

  1. Open the official SBI portal for CRPD/SCO/2026-27/22.
  2. Choose either Deputy Vice President (IT Risk) or Assistant Vice President (IT Risk). Do not apply for both posts.
  3. Enter qualification, age and post-qualification IT experience as on 31 August 2026.
  4. Upload the required resume, ID/PAN, qualification certificates, experience documents, preferred certification, category/PwBD proof if applicable, biodata and CTC form.
  5. Pay the applicable fee online and submit by 6 October 2026.
  6. Retain the application/e-receipt and monitor registered email plus SBI Careers for shortlist/interview updates.

Candidate safeguard: The application should not rely on vague job titles alone. SBI specifically requires documentary proof showing experience in the related field, and candidature can be cancelled if the experience evidence does not support the claim.
