Contract Appointment: What It Means

• Appointment is under the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Contract Appointment) Rules, 2012 and is fully temporary. It gives no claim to an equivalent regular government post, and the service can end at any time on the basis of the committee’s decision or conduct.
• Contract staff do not get pension or death benefits that regular government employees get, and cannot claim regularisation.
• If the government fills these posts through regular recruitment, the contract appointment ends automatically.

Eligibility Pitfalls

• English medium: the qualifying education from Class 6 up to the post-graduate degree must be passed in English medium. Only Hindi and Sanskrit lecturer/teacher posts are exempt.
• Domicile: applicants must be native residents (mool niwasi) of Chhattisgarh and attach the certificate.
• TET: Teacher posts need CG TET / CTET (upper primary level); Assistant Teacher posts need CG TET / CTET (primary level).
• Lecturer: post-graduate degree in the subject with at least second division, and B.Ed.
• Already working in SAGES on contract: you cannot apply for the same post, only for a higher post.
• Age: 21 to 35 years on 01.01.2026. SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) of Chhattisgarh get up to 5 years and women up to 10 years extra; the overall maximum with all relaxations is 45 years.
• All qualifications must be complete by the application date; incomplete or wrong applications are rejected without separate notice.

Selection Process

Selection is through a computer-based test (CBT) in English medium, tentatively between 31 October and 5 November 2026 in different shifts. Offline or postal applications are not accepted. The selection committee’s decision is final, and the number of posts can change.
